ADCS International is a global certification scheme designed to drive operational excellence, safety, and environmental performance in the global anaerobic digestion (AD) sector. Building on the success of ADCS UK, ADCS International provides a robust framework to support AD operators worldwide in optimising their processes and achieving high-performing, sustainable operations.
Through discussions with industry stakeholders, it became evident that while there is extensive regulation, guidance, and standards available, many operators face challenges in navigating these resources and understanding what constitutes best practice. ADCS International bridges this gap by defining operational excellence and providing an independent audit and certification process, tailored to the needs of the international AD community.
Any operator of an AD plant, regardless of size or location, is eligible to apply for certification under ADCS International. The scheme ensures that operators can demonstrate compliance, improve plant performance, and contribute to the global shift towards renewable energy and sustainable waste management.
